The so-called party in power in Washington seems to have forgotten what human decency and basic justice really is about. It should be about not coddling infantile fascists in the highest places in government...yet the problem continues...

  • You lost me there. What is the connection between the speech and debate clause and the Haliburton arbitration issue?

I'm a defender of the right of free speech and I am against arbitration being forced upon employees by big corporations. But what's the connection?
    • >You lost me there.

And some have said that it is very difficult to do that...

      >But what's the connection?

It's complicated. But let's hypothesize that there is a criminal conspiracy...next, let's hypothesize that there is evidence of that criminal conspiracy based on statements made by GOP politicians while speaking on the floor of the US Congress about some legislation...the Speech and Debate Clause of the US Constitution prevents Congressional Elected Representatives from being held or question for statements they make while debating Congressional business on the floor of the House or Senate...so, a problem then arises...or not, depending on whether it bothers you...or not.
